KUNGAHARA Burera

About
The KUNGAHARA Burera (KungaBu) project, formally titled Increasing Food Production and Livelihood Improvement in the Kamiranzovu Marshland Area, Burera District, is a three-year initiative funded by the European Union under its KUNGAHARA Programme. Officially launched in February 2024, the project is a collaborative effort between Burera District and ARECO-RWANDA NZIZA.
KungaBu aims to address critical issues such as food insecurity, malnutrition, and poverty in the Kamiranzovu marshland area, located in the Butaro Sector of Burera District. The primary objectives of the project include increasing agricultural production, improving food security, and enhancing livelihoods for local communities. The project focuses on sustainable agricultural practices and the development of effective local infrastructure to promote long-term socio-economic growth.
By improving agricultural output and empowering local farmers, KungaBu seeks to create lasting solutions that will combat hunger and poverty while contributing to the overall well-being of the community. The project is expected to have a significant impact on the region, contributing to both economic development and improved health outcomes for residents in the Kamiranzovu marshland area.
